I'm very excited about my new acquisition!

It is an Australian International Arms M10-A2 (7.62x39). One of only 200 imported to the USA before the BATF banned their import (because the stock is made in Vietnam). Since then, I hear that the company has stopped making this caliber and is only making the 7.62 NATO version.

It is a modern cross between an Enfield and an AK-47. It is a completely redesigned and newly manufactured action - no surplus parts used. It takes standard AK magazines, and it came with 2 10-round and 2 30-round magazines. It also came with a factory-issued canvas scabbard. It did not include the scope, but the factory picatinny rail was included.

It has a two-position rear peep sight, chrome-lined bore and chamber, free-floated 16" heavy barrel, and teak wood stock. The metal is parkerized gray.

Tri-star imported a lot of 200 in 2004, but then they sold the remaining stock along with the import agreement to (a company whose name I can't recall right now), but when the new company tried to import them the BATF had a fit and banned them.

I am VERY happy! I would only be happier if I could have picked up one of the 20" versions (the M10-A1). Maybe someday I'll have to add the M10-B2 Match in 7.62 NATO to my collection.

$550+$30 FedEx, and the gunsmith did the transfer for free as a matter of policy (he wants to see people have easy access to gun ownership). I think the gun has great long-term investment potential.

BTW... Canadians can get the AIA rifles in 7.62 NATO from Marstar: http://www.marstar.ca/gf-AIA/index.shtm. The company is trying to work out the USA imporatation kinks, and the have been for years. I hope they will be able to bring them to market here soon.

Please post 100 yard groups when you get around to it. How does the trigger feel and what does it weigh? Does the bolt cycle real smoothly?

I like that M10-B2 Match.

The bolt is real smooth. The former owner claimed 2" groups with iron sights at 100 yards using surplus ammo. The gun is heavy - 9 pounds with no magazines in it. Two-stage trigger with heavy first stage and crisp break - not a light trigger... maybe 5 pounds.

It's not for sale - :23_1_22:

There are at least 199 other owners, and maybe one of them is interested in selling.
